The technical evolution of field sprayers for open field crop treatments has led to innovations that improve performance and solve the most common problems that farmers have to deal with every day.
As for all crops, even for cereal crops and horticulture, the correct distribution of the plant protection product is essential in order to obtain effective treatments, which can only be achieved using machinery configured ad hoc according to the specific needs.
This is especially important when working in large areas, as an incorrect setting, even if only slightly incorrect, has serious economic and environmental repercussions.
By means of our research and development department, we at Ideal are constantly striving to find cutting edge solutions to achieve optimum results in all working situations. We are aware of the fact that today, in agriculture, great performance also means greater attention to sustainability issues and, therefore, the use of less resources and a reduced environmental impact.
Professional open field crop management
Our field sprayers of the Poly range, with their versatility and simple use, as well as their different sizes and features, are the ideal tool for open field crop management in small, medium or large areas.
Of all of them, Poly Super and Poly Super Plus are the most advanced, as they can be equipped with different hydraulic booms and they can be customised with a series of optional accessories that make them suitable for use both in pre-sowing / emergence - with the crop in the sown field but which has not emerged yet - and it post-emergence - with targeted weed control when the crop has already emerged - when applications must ensure efficacy and selectivity.
Specifically, our field sprayers can be equipped with:
- hydraulic boom with coverage from 12 to 18 metres with X-shaped closure, simple but very versatile;
- hydraulic boom with coverage from 18 to 21 metres with U-shaped closure, which, thanks to its special closure and reinforced structure, is more stable even on uneven terrain;
- hydraulic boom with coverage from 15 to 24 metres with lateral closure, which can also be equipped with an air sleeve, making it the ideal solution for professional treatments in large areas and on horticultural crops.
Thanks to the different configurations, Ideal field sprayers ensure effective treatments, as they adapt to the different crops to be treated, as well as to the development stage of the weed and to their leaf development.
For example, it is possible to adopt the agronomic technique of microdose distribution, i.e. carrying out several interventions using small amounts of water per hectare with small doses of active ingredient aimed at the elimination of very specific weeds. This technique makes it possible to eliminate only undesired weeds, reducing the cost of weeding per hectare and decreasing the degree of environmental pollution.
In the same way, choosing to equip the weed control booms with specific anti-drift nozzles further improves the results obtained, since the use of the latter allows for a degree of penetration 35-40% greater than that of a standard nozzle. And, therefore, better coverage and consequently greater treatment efficacy.
Resource savings are also achieved thanks to the use of DPA computers, which allow for a distribution of the liquid solution proportional to the speed of travel. In this way, the dose dispensed per hectare is kept constant, which allows to save 15-20% of the resources required for treatment.
In addition to the optional accessories linked to the delivery system, the configuration of the machine, with its low centre of gravity, and of the booms, with built-in rod pendulum, help increase the efficacy of the treatments.
Specifically, the hydraulic balancing system with non-deformable parallelogram geometry allows for the boom to be automatically repositioned in the event of uneven or irregular terrain. By quickly returning to the correct position, the boom keeps treatment distribution even and does not leave some areas over-covered and others under-covered.
Finally, if equipped with the appropriate accessories, our field sprayers can become part of agriculture 4.0, allowing the user to record all of the machine's field activities and to use the ISOBUS system, making work even easier.
